WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A PART OF THIS EFFORT?

We need people to collect and verify material for this website.

We need people to tell us who has unusual collections of things suitable for this museum. High on our list of priorities: Indian artifacts; old farm implements; old tools; old household items; old textiles (any totally handmade in Murray—spinning, weaving, etc.?); older handsewn items; old documents pertaining to Murray County citizens; photos at least 60 years old, etc.

We need people who can photograph items we want to show here.

We especially need to find people who are computer savvy enough to scan documents, book pages, and photos to create computer files from what they scan.

We need people who will visit the Chatsworth-Murray County Library and look up certain events as they were reported in old issues of the Chatsworth Times.

The Library now has all issues for several decades on microfilm–which a person can learn to operate in about 10 minutes. When a story of interest is located, it can be printed out.

This could prove to be one of our greatest research tools to fill in blanks in our knowledge and answer specific questions about events.

We need people to contact senior citizens across the county seeking information about earlier times, finding what interesting items they might possess that should be posted on this site.

For example, very old documents, photographs, family heirlooms, etc. that they are willing to let us copy for the specific purpose of including their prized possessions in our MurrayCountyMuseum.com collection.
