MURRAY COUNTY POETRY

Poems by Murray Poets and Poems About Murray County
SPRING

We hear the far off thunder
and know it's going to rain,
God's washing up his world
and getting ready for spring.

The wind is raking up the leaves
the sun will bleach things white,
Yes God's doing his washing
for spring is now in sight.

I like to sit out on the porch
when everything is still
And listen to the crickets sing
or the lonesome call of a shippoorwill.

Or get up bright and early
to hear the bird sing
Thank God for letting me live
to see another spring.
